Duration of treatment

back

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the infection and on the response to treatment. For most infections the treatment courses shown in Table 4 will be sufficient.

In dogs, the treatment should be reconsidered if no improvement of the clinical condition is observed within 3 days, or in cases of superficial pyoderma 7 days, and in cases of deep pyoderma 14 days, after starting the treatment.

In cats, treatment can be continued for up to 21 days depending on the clinical response. The treatment should be reconsidered if no improvement of the clinical conditions is observed within 3 days.
